Biomass Boilers  -  Over 4MW Installed

Since the introduction of the the Domestic Renewable Heating Incentive scheme (dRHI) we have been involved in the assessment,  calculation and specification for over 4 megawatts of biomass boiler systems. The majority of the boilers were sized between 25kW - 40kW  ... so that's a LOT of biomass systems!

A biomass boiler burns clean dry wood pellets to reduce harmful PM2.5 particulates. They burn at around 90% efficiency so energy loss is minimised and produces hot water which can then be used to heat your home via traditional radiators or underfloor heating as well as providing all your hot water needs.

Wood pellet are burned in a high efficiency burner to provide clean and efficient heat generation with minimum of pollution and CO2 emissions. Wood pellets are obtained from sustainable forests so they do not deplete the planet of valuable resources. They are carbon neutral in that they only return the CO2 absorbed when growing back into the atmosphere

The government will ban the sale of the most polluting fuels from 2022 and introduce carbon taxes on gas and oil heating systems. This means traditional boilers will become increasingly expensive to run and biomass boilers are the solution to this. 

Unlike other renewable heating systems, Biomass flows at the similar temperature to a traditional oil or LPG boiler (typically 70-75 degrees) meaning there is no need to be upgrading radiators in every room to achieve the same level of comfort.
