Domestic Assessments

Whether you are looking to sell or rent your property or possibly take advantage of the many Governments energy efficiency schemes you will require an Energy Performance Certificate and possibly a Green Deal Report to calculate and explain the property's energy efficiency. In addition to looking at the current situation it also provides recommendations to save money, reduce carbon and help the environment. Once registered the Certificate is valid for 10 years.

To produce the certificate one of our accredited Energy Assessor will need to physically inspect the property and collect information about various elements of the construction. This will include external or internal measurements, heating and hot water used, draft proofing and glazing and any retro-fit insulation installed at the property. We will need access to all rooms at the property as well as the boiler and loft. As our work is audited for quality control we will need to take photographs to evidence our conclusions.

Commercial Assessments

For anyone selling or letting out a commercial property, you will need to book an inspection for an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) before putting the property on the market. These assessments look at how energy efficient the premises is and make recommendations on how this could be improved. Although the vast majority of commercial properties require an EPC, there are some exceptions and even though they are a requirement, they also provide valuable information on where various areas of the premises could be made more energy efficient.

When we inspect the property, we look at the energy efficiency of different aspects of the building in relation to how they affect the entire building’s energy efficiency rating. We look at the size of the property, the age, type and the materials used to build it along with the lighting, ventilation, wall and loft insulation, windows and heating/air conditioning system. This allows us to make recommendations in each of these areas to improve the building’s rating.
